Christmas is almost upon us! We are busily preparing for the pre Xmas markets…6 the week before Xmas!
We are now taking orders for these markets as we know they are going to be busy! So make sure you come and see us at the markets this weekend to place your orders, particularly if you are after new potatoes, tomatoes, baby carrots, bucket of lettuce or bucket of herbs.
You can also order some of Amy’s pots (our daughter) which are looking great!
Miniature Garden – $25
Great Christmas present for children.
Miniature garden includes the following:
- Baby Carrots
- Peas
- Radishes
- Lettuce
- Parsley
Easy to look after – Just keep the garden well watered and train the pea’s around the bamboo stake.

MICROGREEN PLANTER – $25
Great for use over the Christmas period in salads.
The latest trend in gourmet salad greens for those with limited garden space. Microgreens are bigger than sprouts but smaller than baby salad leaves.
Each planter includes the following…
- Fiji Pea Feathers – A semi-leafless pea bred for its feathered shoots. Tastes just like pea’s in the pod!
- Sango Radish – Exceptionally high in vitamins and minerals, its purple colour is also an antioxidant recognized as having anti cancer properties particularly in the bowel.
- Mustard Streaks – Finely cut Mizuna-like leaves with a sweet mild mustard flavour.
- Rocket – Excellent salad spiker with distinctive slightly bitter tangy taste.
Easy to look after – Just keep well watered and snip off as needed. Can be kept on your kitchen bench, centrepiece on your dining table or outside on the deck.

Hi there,
How exciting to be ‘hauled’ into the greenhouse to be shown our first crop of indoor tomatoes turning red. What beauties! We will be closely watching their progress. We sampled our new potatoes served with some fantastic gurnard which we bought from the Clevedon Farmers Market – they were absolutely ‘melt in the mouth’. Just another few weeks and we will have them for sale. I spent quite some time in the sweet pea garden last week to discourage a few weeds. The vines are surviving the winter well and hopefully we will have sweet pea flowers for sale in early spring.
Hi there,
New potatoes may be available this weekend. We will be picking a plant tomorrow night for dinner – looking forward to new potatoes in the middle of winter. Beetroot in winter is really hard to grow without spraying. We thought we would try to grow some in buckets under the plastic – it will be most interesting to see if we can keep them disease free with having the weather off them.
It is University holidays at the moment so Phil is able to have some extra muscle available for the heavy work which is inevitable as we prepare for spring.

Hi there,
The tomatoes are looking fantastic. We can’t believe that without heat they are fruiting and growing so well. The same for the potatoes. These are being grown under plastic (to help protect from frosts) – hopefully we will have these for sale mid July. The spinach has slowed right down but we will have the larger spinach for sale in about three weeks. It is wonderful how every season has its own vegetables albeit in winter these do grow somewhat slower.
See you at the weekend – Jenny
